A true prayer is a two ways communication between God and human being, a true prayer is pouring out of one’s heart to God. There is no special formula’s for prayer. The most effective prayers were just simple words reminding God of his promises or asking God for a favor or making request to Him in faith believing God to answer at his time and place. Prayer is very hard. However, with time and practice you will learn how to pray effectively. Prayer is very important in one’s life, Jesus was an example of one who daily offer prayers to God. He commends us to pray all the times. Jesus Christ validated this truth by waking up very early in the morning while others were still sleeping spending valuable time in prayers and studying the word of God. We all need prayers.

Prayers are effective means of overcoming daily life’s battle or struggle in one’s life. Prayer is a powerful means of controlling the unpleasant circumstances in all situations. Prayer is also a means of praising God rejoicing in what he done and in what in he will do. I can not overstress or over emphasize the importance of prayers. Psalms 37. The one who learns to prayer is bound to be a victories person in the life’s battle. God did not promise us life free of struggle, but He promise that in the midst of all the struggles that He will be with us. John 14. That is reassuring and very splendid. Most people turn away from God when life’s battle is toughest that is not wise. The best and noble thing to do is to be very close to God and handle over all life problems to Him. This is very hard, I must submit to you. Prayer is a serious business with God.

There is a third person who is always in the middle either to prevent us from praying or to prevent the prayers from reaching God. That is our enemy, the Bible call him Satan, the devil. The main duty of Satan is to hinder us from doing the will of God. Believe it or not, prayer is a part of duty required from us by God. The holy Bible admonishes us to pray daily without number.1Thes.5. The duty of the enemy of our soul is to make sure we are not faithful in the areas of prayers. If you do not pray, you are telling the enemy to go ahead and take your family.

I want to tell you a true-life story about the power of prayer or the neglect of it and the influence on next generation. There was a woman who had only one daughter, because of the love she had for her daughter, she devoted a whole house to the worship and serving of her idol. She made daily sacrifices to these her idols all to appease her idol for the protection of her only child. The child grew, became a mature woman and got married. The worshipping of the idol by the mother was intensified; daily sacrifices were made for the idols to protect her only daughter. The daughter grew up and reaches the age of maturity and got married. She had a first child in the new marriage far from her mother’s village in the husband’s house. The new wife was happy in her husband’s house and the mother therefore made greater sacrifices to show her thankfulness to the idol, and the daughter had a second child. The grandmother was very pleased with her idol, more costly sacrifices were made to thank the idol for a supposed well-done job.

However, the devil and the suppose gifts will never last long, it always come at the end with sorrow, heartache and pains. All perfect gifts without sorrow is only from the Lord God, the giver of true perfect gift, the father of light with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. James 2 and Psalms1

Let us return back to the grandmother’s story. Now the grandmother was expecting her third grandchild, she was full of joy and happiness. The daughter’s pregnancy was developing very well and her only daughter was nearing delivery. Just before delivery, the grandmother only daughter was now very sick, the grandmother was worry and very afraid; she consulted all the known idols in all her villages, nearby places and even far away, all with hope to save her only daughter’s life. She sold some of all properties to pay the consultation fees. She renovated her own idol houses with bigger decorations all with the hope of appeasing her idol to save her daughter’s life. In the midst of all the sacrifices and appeasement, the daughter’s fall into hard labor. Despite all the sacrifices and appeasement, after few days of hard labor, the grandmother only daughter passes away with the child.

The grandmother was devastated, all hope seems lost, after weeks of mourning, the grandmother console her self by taking unusual action which stun the whole town and nearby villages including all her co-idol worshippers. Without consultation with any body, the grandmother took the unusual action, she broke the idols into pieces, and she destroyed all the decoration, the idols house and went to about fifty miles away to call a pastor to pray with her. After the burning idol’s house, she told the whole villagers that there must a bigger and higher power than her idols. She into prayers for several days of wanting to know this power that was higher than her idol. Amazingly, she found Christ Jesus as her Lord and Savior.

During period self-examination, the Holy Spirit came into her heart and she received Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. The grandmother took the unusual action by devoting her remaining entire life and resources to the worshipping of the true living God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. The grandmother prayed daily to God, she was attending church services weekly in fifty miles away from her house. Until the day of her death, this grandmother never mentions the name of her former idols. The grandmother was instrumental in the establishment of a church in her village, which is still functioning even till this present day.

The grandmother established other churches in the village where her only daughter was married. The daughter of the grandmother had only children before her death and the grandmother did not want her grandchildren to worship her former idols. She devoted her time, talent and treasures to make sure her grandchildren and great grandchildren serve the true living God. The grandmother was praying daily for unborn great grandchildren. The Bible makes us to understand that God answers prayer when we pray in confidence and in faith.

The grandmother died when her great grandchildren were just little kids. Prior to the grandmother’s death, she made a promise and stated in her will that upon her death and burial. She wanted her properties to be sold, part of the money given to the great grandchildren to further their education in the way and knowledge of God. The rest of the money should be for the establishment and maintenance of her former churches. She specific that she want her great grandchildren to serve God, attend church and be involved in the work of God.

Do you know that God answer prayers? You may think that your prayers, working for God, money spent for God’s work and attending church is in vain. That is a big lie from the master of lies, Satan the devil, God do answer prayers and the Bible says that our labor in the Lord is not in vain. When we pray in faith and trust God either for the present request or future needs, the Lord do answer. I can tell you from personal experience that it is good to pray and trust God even when all hope seems lost. God has answered several of my prayers; time will fail me to tell you about all of it here. I will write on that later.

Main while let us return to the grandmother’s prayer. That grandmother prayed about 120 years ago. Her prayers were "O Lord God, let my children know you as their Lord and Savior". She prayed daily with fasting and prayers. Let us test and see if her prayers were truly answered. The two grandchildren of the late grandmother are now grandmothers themselves, they have over twenty grandchildren combined. Their children and grand children are on fire for the Lord.

They have four pastors in the family. Even the new grandchildren are great in the Lord; they are great academically, studying medicine, business, accountancy, science and theology spreading the word of God around the world.

How much time do you spend praying for your children and even your grandchildren? The one who prays controls the world and the future of those in the prayer circle. Some believe in lucky in the world. Let me tell you the truth, nothing happens without someone praying some where. Prayers are very important, some two thousand Jesus Christ prayed for us, that the church of God on earth might be one, united and love the Lord and each another. That what is uniting Christians brothers and sisters all over the world in common faith and love of Jesus Christ.

To you grandmother, great-grandmother or grandmother to be, How much time do you spend reading the Bible and praying for your grandchildren or great- grandchildren in a week? If you go to the prison or hospital, we have so many young men and women in the prison or in the hospital with various sexual transmitted diseases like HIV and AIDS whose grandmother or great grandmother fails to pray for them or could have delivered by their prayers.

You may not know, we are in the battlefield in the present age. Our battle is not against fresh and blood or with human weapons of war. The devil is out to steal, kill and destroy your children, grandchildren and even your great grandchildren either with drugs, sexual perversion or other vices like prison or mental institution. It is sad to note that majority of our grandmothers and great grandmothers are allowing the devil to steal, destroy or have the upper hands in their families or future generations families.

Our goal as a ministry is to present the word of God to you in a relevant ways. So as to stimulate you to present your family to God as a holy vessel of honor ready for the master’s use. The DIVINE GRACE INT'L MINISTRIES mandate is to build God a family that will hear God’s voice and do his will.

The problem we have in the society today stem from home. As a people of God, we are called to stand for God when all else are falling apart. We shall be the generation that serve God and cause the next generations after us to do the same. Are willing to present your family to God, we are not a church. We do not have affiliations with any church to use our teaching to recruit members for them. Our goal is for you to stand for God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit in your families and show love to each another as commended to us by Christ.

Today we have battle within and battle without as a result; our prisons and hospitals are overflowing with young men and women whose heart are committed to do more evil and are reaping the fruits of their labor by various deadly diseases. As a grandmother, you have a role to play to stem the tide of the evil wave by standing in the gap using the word of God and the words of your mouth, which can stop any firing power of the evil one.

We are in the battlefield, our enemy is already defeated, and we only need to use our authority to stop his power and onslaught advance. The winner has already been known even before we start the fight. Please use your daily prayers and the word of God to defeat the enemy that is working to destroy your family and our society. As a grandmother and a great grandmother, you have time, talent and treasures to fight this enemy against your family.
